Training Programme on scientific Piggery Production with theme “Nutritional security and Livelihood of Tribal Farmers through Improved Piggery” under Tribal Sub Plan was held at Amliang Village.
A five day’s training programme on piggery production was held at Amliang village from 25th April - 29th April, 2016. All together 27 farmers, farm women and rural youths participated in the training programme. In the first day of the training programme, S. Peter Singh, Programme Coordinator (I/c) KVK, Anjaw delivered the welcome note followed by technical session. Dr. Tilling Tayo, SMS, Animal Sciences delivered an exclusive lecture through PowerPoint presentation, on different aspect of housing, rearing method, feeding system, diseases management, breeding and biosecurity management of piggery production. He also spoke about the role and importance of entrepreneurship development through piggery farming.
On the last day of the training programme, an Animal Health Camp was organized to provide a ground impact of the training at field level to motivate the pig rearing farmers to take care of the Animal Health for higher and better pork production system as many as 57 Animal were dewormed and treated for various disease and deficiency based on sign and symptom of animal. At the conclusion of the fifth days of training programme, the village Gao Bura, Atoli Ama, delivered the vote of thanks appreciating the KVK, Anjaw for showing different dimensions of piggery production system and organizing Animal Health Camp and prompt treatment thereof.
